A post pandemic approach to employment should differ from pre-pandemic approaches as much has changed and will continue to change before, during, and after this period in time. Shifts in labour markets were taking place prior to the pandemic such as the growth of contract labour, the emergence of remote work and telework, and the transcending of automation in industrial production. Revitalizing labour markets after the pandemic requires focus on these shifts to prepare new industry for these adjustments. In addition, the pandemic has geared shifts in labour on its own by increasing demand in some sectors and reducing demand in others. After the pandemic, certain sectors may not recover to the previous levels. This shift also leads to reengineering responses to revitalizing labour markets.
